Watches and Fashion

Watches & Fashion are an integral part for a fashion statement. The watches & fashion has a cryptographic chip and an NFC antenna which enables it to transmit a digital certificate to a Bvlgari app installed on your phone. The intention is that you should be able to store codes in the app or in the future, when applicable, you could automate calls, open doors, transmit payments and business cards. This feature is a result of a partnership with fellow Swiss breathren, WISeKey, which is a digital security and data storage company.
NFCs are supposed to be secure but mostly because their signals are very short and you would need to touch devices to transmit data. However, it could be argued that more may be required to discourage a future ‘data’ pickpocket.
Apple reckons the Apple Watch might be the latest must-have fashion accessory, but we've asked Australian fashion bloggers, writers and industry peeps, and they think... a little differently.
Technology has been courting the fashion industry for as long as we can remember – or at least, since the launch of Instagram. The recent Samsung Galaxy S6 launch in Sydney had more fashion blogger attendees than tech writers, and the pose de rigour at Fashion Week's round the world last year was the "absorbed in my iPhone 5" look.
So it was no surprise that when Apple launched the Apple watch, they went straight to the fashion elite to market it: supermodel Christy Turlington-Burns. Their message is clear: the Apple Watch is not just a piece of tech, it's a fashion accessory – and one that goes with any outfit, season after season.
The thing is, do Australia's fashion set agree?
Apple might think their Apple Watch is the must-have arm candy on every fashionista's arm, but seeing as fashion bloggers and writers are glued to their phones for Instagram-worthy photos, it's a little bit... superfluous.
